House Reef East
The east side takes us into some steeps slopes and wall dives to about 24 meters with a sandy bottom sloping rapidly down into the blue. In daytime, the top of the reef is swarming with small fish, although down on the bottom you will see a few bigger visitors. Whalesharks have been seen in the early part of the year – usually between January and May – not far from the wall as they motor along towards BBC, but the house reef at night is a different kettle of fish when the nightshift comes into full swing (it begins to change from about 5.45pm onwards). This is the time when nudibranches sneak out from the rocks and crevices and give a dazzling display…and watch out…the Christmas tree display lasts all year long! | |||||||||||
