This dive site can be approached either by banca or, if the weather is not too good for getting boats around Doljo Point, overland by vehicle. On the sheltered side of the island, it is also where many dive shops and fishermen anchor their boats when it is not advisable to remain on Alona Beach.

A shallow water entry, it is nevertheless good for photographers almost from the beginning of this wall dive with Cathedral Virgin corals. Running from three to 40 meters, the beginning is good for snorkellers but the bigger fish are normally patrolling the wall itself down to about 30 meters.

A favourite place for Banner fish and Barracuda, Napaling normally has good visibility because it is ‘in the shadow’ of the island and the prevailing tide, but it can easily turn into a drift dive…even if the current is usually about two knots. The temptation is to investigate the depths but the best diving is within the eight to 12 meter zone.

The sharks – and occasionally manta rays – are normally found in the deeper portions but a five-minute dive there can take up half your diving time which can be more usefully used just investigating the top half of the more interesting and colourful wall.
